Nim Dorji Tamang to Represent Bhutan

Thimphu, October 2025 — Bhutan’s rising golf talent Nim Dorji Tamang is all set to represent the Kingdom at the upcoming Asian Pacific Amateur Golf Championship (AAC) in Dubai this month.

For a nation where golf is still a developing sport, Tamang’s qualification is a proud moment — one that reflects the growing passion and dedication of Bhutanese players.

“I’m truly honored to play for Bhutan,” said Tamang before his departure. “It’s not just about me — it’s about showing that even from a small country, we can compete with the best.”

The AAC is one of Asia’s most prestigious amateur events, with winners earning invitations to the Masters Tournament and The Open Championship Final Qualifying. Tamang’s participation marks Bhutan’s continued presence in regional golf, following the national team’s recent silver medal win at the Nepal Open Golf Championship 2025.

Officials from the Bhutan Golf Federation have expressed pride in Tamang’s achievement, noting that his journey is inspiring a new generation of golfers at home. “This is what progress looks like,” one official shared. “Step by step, we’re putting Bhutan on the golfing map.”

As Tamang tees off in Dubai, the hopes of an entire nation travel with him — a nation that believes in quiet strength, humble determination, and the joy of playing the game with heart.
